Social Accountability for Social Protection.

Our social accountability programme aims to empower citizens and beneficiaries of social protection programmes to hold the government accountable in the delivery of social protection programmes. We  engage with policymakers and service providers to bring about greater accountability for responsiveness to citizens’ needs. Through this programme, SPAF builds the capacities of citizen groups  in promoting accountability. We train community based organizations on social accountability tools including score cards to enhance quality of public services delivery to citizens. The programme seeks to give voice to beneficiaries of social protection programmes and other citizens on the needs and concerns in the implementation of social protection programmes. We have conducted social audits on the delivery of cash transfer programmes in Makueni, Kilifi, Busia, Kajiado and urban slums in Kenya.
