Social Protection Budget Analysis and budget tracking.

Social protection is one of the recent areas of interest for governments and development partners. We are interested in the basic spending of the government on social protection. The Social Policy Framework for  Africa (2008) provides a 4.5% target for spending in social protection programmes. We engage in budget analysis and budget tracking to establish the level of funding of social protection in Kenya, as well as assess the affordability and sustainability of social protection programmes in Kenya. The findings of this programme form the basis for advocacy for enhanced funding for social protection in Kenya.
